George Burgess of Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania

George Burgess Sr. (so called in his cemetery transcription) was born 29 April 1796 in England. He married Harriett __ about 1826 in England. He is listed in the 1830-70 censuses for Allegheny Co. He died there on 23 August 1874 (being buried in the Concord Presbyterian Cemetery, Carrick, Pennsylvania), having had one son and two daughters:

George Burgess Jr. was born about 1827 in England. He married Martha Ann Clugage about 1869. He is listed in the 1870 census for Cloud Co., Kansas, and in the 1875 state census both in Cloud Co. and Jewell Co., Kansas. He died, possibly in Colorado, about 1879, having had three sons:

1. Frank Burgess (1870-1939) of Shawnee Co., KS
2. James Edward Burgess (1872-1946) of Jackson Co., MO
3. Charles W. Burgess (1878?-1920+) of Jackson Co., MO

Frank Burgess is the ancestor of O. C. Burgess.
