Thomas Burge was christened on 29 May 1780 at Chilcompton, Somerset Co., England. He married firstly Elizabeth “Betty” __ (who died young), and secondly Sarah __ about 1820. He is listed in the 1841-61 censuses for Midsomer Norton, Somerset Co., England. He worked as a tailor. Thomas Burgess died there about 1863, having had three sons by his second wife:

William Augustus Burge is the ancestor of M.A. Burge.
