Orazio Borghese of Ontario, Canada

Orazio Borghese was born about 1873 in Dipignano, Calabria, Italy, possibly the son of Giovanni Borghese. He was adopted at a young age by the Caputo family of Cellara, near Cosenza, Calabria. He married Rosina “Rosa” Filici by 1903 in Italy, and secondly Rosaria Caputo by 1909. He is recorded as traveling to Boston, Massachusetts on 15 April 1903 and 10 June 1910, and to New York City on 14 April 1920; he then stayed a few months with his brother-in-law, Pasquale Gallo, at Boston, Massachusetts. Very shortly, he settled his family in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, where he died on 18 February 1921, aged 47 years (buried Saint Ignace Church, Sault Ste. Marie), having had at least four sons:

Carmine Giuseppe Borghese was born 1904 at Figline Vegliaturo, Calabria, Italy. He moved with his family to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. He married Mariam Adele Pallaro on 26 June 1929 in Sault Ste. Marie. He died there on 31 December 1946, aged 42 years (buried Holy Sepulchre Cemetery), having had two sons.

 

Carmine Giuseppe Borghese is the ancestor of R. C. Borghese.
