Thomas Burgess was born around 1890.  He lived in Greenville County
South Carolina in 1820 and 1830 along with Carter Burgess.  They are
believed to be brothers and an be found in Greenville County census records.  
Both Thomas and Carter moved to Dekalb County Alabama in the early
1830s where Thomas died in 1834.  Thomas' son William Burgess can be found
in Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Greenville County SC membership lists.

It has been difficult to determine which sons belong to Thomas and
Carter so below is best guess at parents

William Burgess' son Thomas B Burgess moved to Shelby County Texas
after the Civil War.  Paul Burgess is a descendant of Thomas B Burgess.
