ZF1 Achilles Burgess of Wake Co., NC
This family of North Carolina is unique in being the only Burgess family that tested as Haplogroup B. This presents unique challenges for getting a recently dated SNP and the reason is simple. There are far fewer people tested in this haplogroup because it is centred in Africa. This would suggest that Achilles was born to an African slave father in colonial America. It is not impossible but unlikely this B haplogroup ancestor was introduced in previous generations in the UK. Additionally the terminal SNP of this line is extremely old, dated to around 4200BCE in the stone age. This haplogroup desperately needs more test results. The sole BigY tester has 55 private variants, if another member of this family upgraded t0 BigY this huge 55 private variant block would likely convert to a block of over 40 equivalents. Outside of other Burgess descendants of Achilles it will be unlikely to find matches as they would most likely be in African Americans or native Africans. The best chance would be to find African Americans descended from slaves living alongside Achilles.

Research Objectives:
1. Obtain addtional BigY testers in the Achilles descendants
2. research needs to be done on African Americans living at the time and place of Achilles Burgess in North Carolina.
